I’m Emily.
I created The No-Force EBSA Education Pathway because I know first-hand the devastation school trauma can cause a family.
I’m a mum to three neurodivergent children, and like many parents, I found myself living through the nightmare of Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA).
Every morning felt like a crisis.
My child was breaking down, his mental health was collapsing, and I was being told the same thing over and over again:
"He has to go to school."
But continuing to force him through those school gates would have meant losing him completely.
So I did what most parents in this situation end up doing.
I stayed up night after night researching the law, trying to understand what our rights actually were.
And that’s when everything changed.
I realised something schools rarely explain to parents:
The law was on our side.
Once I understood the legal framework — including Section 19, SEND law and many more, I was able to advocate for my child without continuing the trauma.
Today, my child is thriving but it wasn't an easy journey.
That’s why I created The No-Force EBSA Education Pathway.
It’s the exact framework I wish I had when we were in the middle of crisis — overwhelmed, exhausted, and desperately searching for answers.
Now I’m sharing everything I learned so other parents don’t have to go through the same sleepless nights trying to figure it all out alone.
Because when parents understand their rights, something powerful happens.
We stop begging the system to help our children…
And we start protecting them.
